Creativity and New Media


I play video games a lot so in my free time I created an emblem that would be displayed every time I play a game. I was able to use many tools available in Call of Duty. The game lets me use hundred of different building blocks and with some help from YouTube, I was able to create this emblem. Through the PS4 Share feature, I was able to screenshot the emblem on my console and email it to myself. I found it extremely interesting how new media gives us tools that can easily show how creative we truly are.

    This emblem looks amazing and very creative! I had no idea that you were able to go into so much depth and have tools to show your creativity on your PS4.

     I have contributing in the wiki for the class in two categories so far:   Third person shooter gaming and Accounting in social media. I have added pictures and content on both subjects. For the gaming section, I talked about Fortnite and its popularity. Fortnite grew to become one of the most popular games in the world due to its unique design but was eventually copied by competitors. Also, I discussed the importance of utilizing social media in the accounting profession. Accountant should use social media to expand their reach and their client base. I plan to contribute to two more sections and make edits where it is necessary. The wiki is a great place to share ideas and communicate and I plan to continue to contribute to it.

Advice

I would advise Baruch to establish a larger social media presence in the new age of new media. Baruch has social media accounts, but they should try to significantly grow their following and audience. Baruch is not as well known outside of New York as many other universities. Social media is the largest growing platform for communication and would be a great tool to reach out to new audiences. Baruch can invest by hiring more marketing professionals as well as competing in international business competitions. This would significantly raise Baruch’s brand. Social media is the best way to expand your reach and baruch should take advantage of this growing opportunity.
